The Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) celebrated International Olympic Day 2025 on June 23 at Belgavi, with a series of events designed to promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.

According to media reports and official releases, the celebration focused on the global theme of “Move, Learn, Discover,” while specifically highlighting Karnataka’s growing status as a sports hub.

The Olympic Day Run: The flagship event was a symbolic “Olympic Day Run” held in Bengaluru, featuring participation from hundreds of young athletes, sports enthusiasts, and veterans.

Athlete Interactions: Several Arjuna Awardees and Olympians from the state participated in “Meet the Champion” sessions, sharing their journey with budding sportspersons to ignite interest for the upcoming 4th Mini Karnataka Games.

Promotion of ‘Let’s Move’: Aligning with the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) global initiative, the KOA organized physical activity workshops across various district centers to encourage daily fitness among the youth.

The function was led by Dr. K. Govindaraj (President, KOA and FIBA Asia), who emphasized that Olympic Day isn’t just for professionals but for every citizen to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
