The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 (often referred to as the NC Classic) was a historic milestone for Indian athletics, held on July 5, 2025, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. This wasn’t just a celebration but the first-ever World Athletics Continental Tour Gold-Level event hosted in India. The Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) played a vital supporting role in facilitating this international meet, which placed Bengaluru on the global track-and-field map alongside cities like Paris and Doha.
🏟️ Event Highlights & Results: The event was a “sell-out” success, with over 12,000 fans filling the Kanteerava Stadium despite overcast conditions.
The Main Event: Neeraj Chopra clinched the gold medal with a best throw of 86.18m in his third attempt.
International Competition: The field was world-class, featuring Olympic and World champions. Silver: Julius Yego (Kenya) – 84.51m, Bronze: Rumesh Pathirage (Sri Lanka) – 84.34m
Indian Talent: Rising stars like Sachin Yadav (who crossed the 80m mark at 82.33m) and Yashvir Singh also competed, gaining invaluable international exposure on home soil.
